The Town Board meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The Town Clerk-Treasurer office hours at the town hall are Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and other times by appointment. Building permits are required for:
- New Houses = $650 or $850 depending on size + $300 Park Fund + $35 State Seal
- New Addresses = $100
- New Culverts = $40 + $150 engineer fee for proper placement
- Additions to a house or other building - fee based on project size
- Major remodeling including basement, kitchen and bath finishing and electrical service upgrades - fee based on project size
- Garage, shed or any other new buildings - fee based on project size
- Taking down structures = $25
*The permit fees are subject to change by the Town Board
If you are building a new home you will need to submit an online application for a permit at DSPS Online Building Permit System - Application (wi.gov)
Once the online application is complete, you can contact Paul Hermes and submit your plans and other required information to him.
Town building permits are not required for: re-roofing, siding or replacement windows or doors of the same size. Town building permits are also not required for the following, however, you should contact the County Planning and Zoning Office at 920-832-5255 to see if there are county requirements for these items:
- Fences
- Signs
- Small buildings without concrete foundations
- Ponds
- Pools
No boring, filling or changes of any kind shall be made to the Town of Center road right-of-way without first obtaining a permit from the Town of Center. An application for a permit must include a detailed written description of the work to be performed along with a map of the work area.
It is a violation of a Town Ordinance and a State Statute to plow snow or to blow snow onto or across the Town Roads. Also, please do not install stakes or anything else, except mailboxes, in the Town right-of-way within 5 feet of the blacktop. The front of the mailbox should be 2 feet from the edge of the blacktop or 13 feet from the center of the road.
Dog licensing is a state law and dog licenses must be purchased by March 31 for any dog over 5 months of age. The cost is $9.00 for a Male or Female and $4.00 for a Spayed Female or Neutered Male. If you owned the dog prior to April 1 and failed to obtain a license, a $5.00 penalty will be applied.

Proof of rabies vaccination MUST be submitted when the license is applied for. The rabies vaccination certificate will be returned with the dog license. Also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for mailing of the dog license. Make check payable to: TOWN OF CENTER. Dog License Application
The Town Hall is available for use by TOWN RESIDENTS for meetings and social events. To make the hall available to as many people as possible, to curtail the cost to taxpayers and to keep the rental fees reasonable, please see Town Hall & Park Pavilion Reservation Rules
Town Hall & Park Pavilion Rental Form
- The hall rental fee is $75.00, plus $75.00 deposit
- The town park shelter is available to rent for $25.00 plus $25.00 deposit. No dogs are allowed in the park.
